Hello Volks Folks!!!

* The Dutch Dubbers will be at the 4th Annual Road Jamboree at America On Wheels Cruise event on Saturday September 17 and will surely be a great day full of family fun. The Road Jamboree will feature all modes of over-the-road transportation and will host a variety of indoor and outdoor activities from 10am-4pm. 9am- Cruise down Hamilton Blvd with the Lehigh Valley Timing Association (leaving from Wert's Cafe in Allentown and coming to AOW) September 17

*All Air-Cooled Gathering on Sunday September 18th. We will meet in the Easton K Mart Marking lot at 8:00am. This is a great show..let's take as many car's down to Flanders as possible.

*Alright folks we're doing it all over again! The biggest, baddest fall cruise in the entire universe is back! For those that aren't familiar with this cruise it's miles and miles of twisty back roads through Lehigh and Carbon counties. This cruise is very cool way to wind down for the season and check out some parts of the region that maybe you didn't know existed. Also, we will be taking a free tour in Pottsville @ America oldest Brewery the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville Pa. Dutch Dubbers Fall Cruise will be led by Dave Watson on Saturday Sept 24th..start time 10:00am from Wa Wa at Rt 100. -- More info to come from Dave!

Other news: America on Wheels is looking for a 50's or 60s VW bus for the museum. They will be changing out their vehicles in the south gallery. The Theme is travel / destination. We are trying to find them a VW Bus. Do you have any contacts for this?? Contact Linda Merkel at 610 432 4200.

Halloween Parades are coming up soon in Oct. We will send out a complete list of parades and start times. It's a great bit of fun to show off our cars!

Meet at 8am @ Chickfila on Hamilton Blvd/222 in the strip mall with walgreens and panerabread across from walmart. We will take 222 to 422 it's about 1hr 15min we can make some stops along the way if needed. We will leave Chickfila at 8:15 sharp. This should get us there by 9:45, registration closes at noon so this should give us plenty of time.

First location is the Kmart (on 4th street in Allentown Pa.) at 7:30am...we will leave 7:30am sharp!

We plan to drive thru the back roads of Macungie to meet up with another group at 7:45am @ The Buckeye Tavern

Info on the Aircooled Extravaganza!
As of last week Air-cooled Extravaganza has lost their venue. Hard economic times have caused Dover VW to have to drop the show and sponsorship of our trophies. We still plan on having the show and at this time we're desperately searching for a new venue. We'd like to reach out to our friends, members and fellow VW clubs at this time for help and suggestions.

Club Tech Workshop
It's about time we ran a tech workshop. Faulkner VW will be hosting on per month starting in May. This one will be about servicing an engine - oil change, valves, points etc. Date & location Faulkner VW in Allentown…. after the May 9th Meeting @ 11:30am!

Thank you to everyone for making our first charity show a great success.

All of us at the Dutch Dubbers VW cub, the organizers, the entire volunteer staff, we wish to thank all of those individuals who helped, donated, and participated in all the fundraising activities throughout the 5 weeks. We also want to thank all of the area business's who donated to our door prizes raffle. We could not be prouder of VW friends and our community for reaching out and helping us not only meet our fundraising goal, but to exceed it. The whole Dutch Dubbers Club team pulled together. A special Thank you to Dave and Alan! and I am really proud of all of you!

We raised a total of $776.

Fall Leaf Cruise 2008

The Dutch Dubbers went up rt100 to rt309. Stopped for ice cream at the Dairy. Then west on rt895 until the big climb up Hawk Mtn. Up the HILL------------down the HILL-- thru a little valley. Very Senic! The Red 70 Bug is fresh built squeaked his tires every chance he got! LOL. The
neat-o orange Super has wide fenders and big meats and a sparkle paint job like we made back in the 70'S. Jim's bronze early ragroof body/late pan combo has some cool body mods. OH and that guy brought a Rabby Cabby just to spoil the symmmmmmetry. And the camper bus made it up all the hills AOK.
